From The Great White North..Great Brown State

Foret Wrap-up:

Conditions could not have been better for the Canada trip. The kids had a fantastic time and the snow was amazing! The only issue is that there was too much snow, just kidding. I have posted many more photos on the blog. A special thanks is owed to the parents/drivers/chaperones (Richard Frost, Charlie Humphries, Charlie & Merrie Woodworth, Betsy Ham, and Peter& Ruth Hall), who provided lots of assistance and made the trip possible. For those of you who have not paid for the trip please send a check made out to the Coastal Nordic Ski Club. Please send the check to my residence:

Eastern Cup:

The first Eastern Cup is scheduled onDec 15th and 16th in Presque Isle. See all details at: http://www.nensa.net/sched&result/racing_index.php. For those new to Eastern Cups, MCN does not provide accommodations or transportation to Eastern Cup venues. MCN will provide waxing and support for those in the Maine Coast Nordic Competition program. I hear that accommodations are filling up so please book soon. Here is a listing of other Eastern Cups:

1/26-1/27: Rumford Eastern Cup
2/9-2/10: Vermont, Prospect Mountain and Vermont Academy
2/23-2/24: New Hampshire, Hanover and Holderness

Note: The high school Nordic season starts on 12/3. If you plan to race in one or all of the Eastern Cups, ensure that your high school coach is aware of you plans, well ahead of time!

Practice Schedule:

For those of you just returning from Foret Monmorency, take the next two days off. I would recommend a 45 min run and 15 min core workout on Wednesday. The practice schedule for this week will be as follows:

Thursday: 3:30-5:00 Twin Brook, Freestyle roller-ski. Stretch and strength upon return
Friday: 3:30-5:00 Twin Brook, Dryland Specific strength
Saturday: 8:00-10:00 Pineland Visitors Center, Classic roller-ski
