Big Day for NE Yesterday and Today

Friday was the classic distance event at JO's. After a demoralizing day for many New Englanders in the Skate on Wednesday, team NE crushed the field yesterday. The temperatures were warm and ever changing but our waxers nailed it. With skis coming out of the trailer 2-3 minutes before the start there was some serious potential for disaster. The skis were great and all of the kids put in heroic efforts. On the MCN front, Adele was 2ND, 7 seconds out of first. She put in a tremendous effort and it paid off. She was narrowly defeated by fellow New England and U of Utah skier Parker Tyler. Sam Humphries had his best race of the week, finishing 21st in the J2 Boys race. Molly Susla had another good day, finishing 50th in the J1 women's field.

Today is the relay. If NE skis well, the overall title will belong to us. Sam Humphries is leading off in the J2 relay. He's had some of his best races this season in classic mass start events. Adele will be the 2nd leg on her team that went 1-2 in the OJ race yesterday. It should be a great day.

I'll send something out this week about next week. Thanks!
